Saint-Tropez, a Mediterranean Dream

Saint-Tropez is not visited, it is lived. Every corner of this old fishing port smells of salt and luxury, of freedom with sunglasses and the crunch of the cobblestones under designer sandals. Here, on the French Riviera, the Mediterranean beats with another rhythm. More leisurely, but more intense.

The first time I saw it was from the car, going down a coastal road where the sea creeps through the pines. Already then I knew that Saint-Tropez was not just a destination, but a mental state. I fell in love with their cafes in front of the harbour, with the impossible yachts, with the sound of the drinks at sunset. It's a place to travel alone in style, yes, but also to reconnect with everything that makes you feel alive.

I invite you to explore this luxury corner and discover why it is the favourite destination of the international elite.

✈️ How to Get There from Barcelona

To get to Saint-Tropez from Barcelona, the most comfortable option is to fly with Vueling to Nice-Côte d'Azur airport. From there, you can rent a car or take a private transfer service that will take you on a picturesque tour of about 1 hour and 30 minutes through the Côte d'Azur until you reach your final destination.

A Place Steeped in History: From Fishing Village to Glamour Icon

Saint-Tropez was once a Roman naval base, later reborn as a humble fishing port. By the late 19th century, artists like Signac and Matisse were drawn to its light — and its magic. Then came Brigitte Bardot in the 1950s, and the world fell under its spell.

Today, Saint-Tropez is where art, sea, and timeless glamour meet. Is synonymous with luxury, attracting celebrities and tourists from all over the world, while preserving its traditional charm with its picturesque streets and Mediterranean architecture, keeping alive a rich history of transformation and reinvention. It has long been a refuge for artists, celebrities and the international jet-set, it is common to see Hollywood stars enjoying the relaxed and glamorous atmosphere of the city: Leonardo di Caprio, Paris Hilton, Mick Jagger .... are some of the personalities who frequent this idyllic place.

🌊 What to See and Do

Saint-Tropez, in addition to its iconic ports and squares, houses a series of lesser-known jewels that offer a unique perspective of its charm and glamour.

Here are my favorite spots — from iconic highlights to hidden corners that made me feel part of Saint-Tropez’s soul.

📍 Iconic Landmarks That Breathe Style

  • La Citadelle: I climbed at sunrise once — it was just me, the breeze, and the Gulf stretching infinitely ahead. Pure serenity.

  • Musée de l’Annonciade: Set inside a 16th-century chapel, this museum feels like a secret. I lost myself in the light and brushstrokes of Matisse and Signac.

  • The Old Port: Grab an espresso and watch the world go by. Yachts arrive, people drift past in linen and silk, and the Mediterranean whispers nearby.

💫 Hidden Corners with Character

  • Maison des Papillons: A charming butterfly museum tucked away in the old town. A poetic surprise that fascinated me.

  • Sentier du Littoral: For those looking for breathtaking views, you cannot miss the Sentier du Littoral, it is a coastal trail that offers spectacular panoramas of the Mediterranean and the hidden coves along the coast. It is a tour that combines natural splendour with tranquillity, ideal for an inspiring walk... I walked it barefoot once — the sea, the scent of pine, the hush. Pure reset.

  • Domaine Bertaud Belieu: For wine lovers, an essential destination, located within walking distance of Saint-Tropez. This winery offers tastings of some of the best wines in the region, allowing you to enjoy the Provencal wine landscape while tasting fresh and aromatic rosés...I remember sipping a chilled rosé under the Provençal sun, surrounded by vineyards and silence. Just perfect.

🛍️ Shopping in Style

Saint-Tropez is a destination where class is on every corner, and its streets, always clean and impeccable, are full of luxury boutiques, designer shops and unique shops that reflect their unparallelled style. Its inhabitants are known for their hospitality and their relaxed but sophisticated lifestyle. Proud of their heritage, they combine Provencal tradition with a cosmopolitan spirit. They are passionate about culture, art and gastronomy, and are always willing to share their love for their city with visitors.

Iconic Stores

Start your tour at the Place des Lices, a vibrant place where the market is held twice a week. Here, you can discover a variety of local products, from fresh fruits to unique antiques. Not far away, in the cobbled streets, you will find the Louis Vuitton boutique, a symbol of French fashion that offers the latest in luxury items.

Chanel, Gucci, Dior... are part of the landscape. For lovers of haute couture, Dior offers not only fashion, but also a culinary experience in its Dior Des Lices restaurant, where you can enjoy a lunch surrounded by iconic designs in a genuine and simply wonderful environment, it really is one of my "Essentials." Of course, you will have to wait until next spring since this moment is in remodelling.

The houses, with their facades in pastel tones and red tile roofs, reflect the Mediterranean heritage of the city. Strolling through the old town transports you to a time where simplicity and natural beauty dominated.

🏨 Where to Stay (and Live a Dream)

To stay, the Hôtel Byblos offers a luxury refuge with a Provencal touch, I stayed here during my last visit and felt like I had stepped into a secret garden of elegance. The breakfast terrace became my morning ritual — fresh pastries, light breeze, and views I couldn’t get enough of.....While the Château de la Messardière combines history and modernity with stunning views, its spa is an oasis of tranquillity and opulence.Perched on a hill with the sea below, this hotel is a retreat of dreams. The spa? An absolute sanctuary. I booked a late-afternoon massage and emerged feeling like I could float. Every corner feels curated to whisper: "breathe."
